Movie Meme Thursday

The drama and trauma of the past week have drained my blogging mojo, I think. So, today you get the movie meme that everyone else has already posted. Hello, bandwagon.

Just in case you've been under a rock, here are the rules:

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them on your blog for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. Looking them up is cheating, please don’t.

Here we go!

1. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. When Harry Met Sally, identified by Maryse
2. You get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office. Ferris Bueller's Day Off, identified by Wendy
3. Roll, roll, roll in ze hay. Young Frankenstein, identified by Jessie
4. Couldn't go on? You'll give the performance of your life. All About Eve, identified by Liz in IN
5. No! Not both of us! Not all of us!Gettysburg, identified by Robin
6. You're overwrought, madam. I've opened a window for you.
7. That's cool baby, you know how it is, rockin' and rollin' and what not. Grease, identified by Wendy
8. As you wish. Princess Bride, identified by Jessie
9. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a knife, and our lives. To Kill A Mockingbird, identified by Blogless Jan
10.I fart in your general direction. Monty Python and the Holy Grail, identified by Jessie

Have at it - and good luck!

ETA: Wow, you guys are fast! All ten movies were identified in less than an hour and a half. I guess I don't watch very obscure movies. Either that or you're all way more into movies than I realized.

Posted by: Jan at March 27, 2008 6:57 AM

I never watch movies, so I can't do much with this.
#3 is Young Frankenstein. #8 is the Princess bride. And #10 is Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

You can see how my taste in movies leans...

Posted by: jessie at March 27, 2008 7:12 AM

Crud, all the ones I know are ID'd already. Although some of them are tickling the back of my brain... oh well.

Posted by: Lucia at March 27, 2008 7:18 AM

#4 is ALL ABOUT EVE

Posted by: Liz in IN at March 27, 2008 7:26 AM

Wow! I knew a bunch of them, but others beat me to it. :-)

#7 is Grease
#10 is Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Posted by: Wendy at March 27, 2008 7:27 AM

Ooh! Ooh! Is #2 Ferris Bueller's Day Off? And I just remembered #4, but Liz beat me to it.

Posted by: Wendy at March 27, 2008 7:29 AM

Heck, I finally get one and somebody gets it first. Heh, I got the Princess Bride one.

Posted by: Teresa C at March 27, 2008 7:30 AM

I know #3 and #8 but I see someone else beat me to them.

Posted by: margene at March 27, 2008 7:46 AM

#6 is Rebecca spoken by the creeptastic Mrs Danvers

Posted by: liz at March 27, 2008 8:00 AM

Ahhhh I sleep in til 7 and miss most of the guessing! Excellent movie choices, though. :)

Posted by: Michelle at March 27, 2008 8:02 AM

Hmm, I guess I must have been living under a rock, because this is the first time I've seen this meme :)

The quotes I know have already been guessed, so I'll just wish you a happy day, instead!

Posted by: Rachel at March 27, 2008 8:04 AM

#6: Rebecca. "Why don't you leave Mandalay?"

Posted by: Ruth at March 27, 2008 8:05 AM

Oh I gotta grab this meme :)
Every one I knew is already guessed so I'll just cheer on the folks who want to give that last one a shot!

Posted by: Carla at March 27, 2008 8:40 AM

Oh-Oh...I know #5...General Armistead in the movie Gettysburg...do you want me to recite the rest of the scene?

Posted by: Robin in VA at March 27, 2008 8:43 AM

Darn, they already got all the ones I knew.

Posted by: Hillary at March 27, 2008 8:46 AM

5. Gettysburg, said by a mortally wounded Confederate general, Lewis Armistead, upon being told his Union friend Winfield Scott Hancock had been wounded. Hancock survived and went on to run for president.

Did Dale's unit participate? Did they get any good camera time??

Posted by: Ina at March 27, 2008 8:54 AM

Clearly I wasn't nearly quick enough. I didn't recognize the one from "All About Eve", though, even though I just watched it a couple of weeks ago.

Posted by: Cheryl S. at March 27, 2008 9:19 AM

I stink at this game. I've seen a few of the movies on the list, but I would have never guessed the movie from the quote, except perhaps for #9.

Posted by: Wool Winder at March 27, 2008 9:36 AM

I've been seeing this meme around, and for the most part, I have no idea what any of the movies ever are! Yours is the first where I pretty much knew a couple (like just two!).

Posted by: lisa at March 27, 2008 1:08 PM

That's what I get for reading at night instead of first thing in the am. Your mojo will be right back after this commercial break ;-)

Posted by: Carol at March 27, 2008 7:27 PM

Is #6 Rebecca?
