Alpacasrus

See that title up there? That's the text message that Blogless Sharon sent me on Friday night. It was meant to inform me that she is now the proud owner of two alpacas.

There they are. Neno is the brown one and he is 8 years old. Bandit is the black one is he is only one year old. Are they not the cutest things ever?

These alpacas just sort of fell into Sharon's lap. You see, their previous owners got divorced and since the man was the one caring for the animals and since he was leaving town and since the wife refused to care for the animals, well, through a series of emails and phone calls they became Sharon's.

I think they will be quite happy on the farm. They are surrounded by other animals including sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and a couple of dogs. Plus they have Sharon and Al to care for them.

And visitors like Dale to kiss.

They're so cute!

Posted by: Tina at July 17, 2007 7:26 AM

Yay for Sharon!
When is she going to set up a blog??? We should do this for her. She can't be having fiber-bearing critters and no blog. It's just wrong. Wrong, I tell ya. It's like having loads of yarn and NO knitting needles. It's wrong.
SHARON! Hay, SHARON! Get a damned blog already!

Posted by: Dave Daniels at July 17, 2007 7:52 AM

How wonderful for Sharon (and you);-)

Posted by: margene at July 17, 2007 8:01 AM

They fell into her lap? That must have hurt!

oh, I slay me. Seriously, though, they're VERY cute, and Sharon is one lucky duck.

Posted by: Ruth at July 17, 2007 8:03 AM

Good fro Sharon! She'll take great care of them. They're such fun animals.

Posted by: Cheryl at July 17, 2007 8:13 AM

I couldn't think of a better place for them. Very cute- esp of The Sherpa Dude getting kissed. :-)

Posted by: Vicki at July 17, 2007 9:09 AM

With those long legs and long neck, Neno looks a bit like a giraffe from a distance! Cute pictures, especially the one with Dale in it.

Posted by: Beth at July 17, 2007 9:27 AM

Lucky, lucky Sharon! They are so adorable; I love little Bandit's face.

Dale and Bandit seem to have hit it off pretty well :)

Posted by: Julie at July 17, 2007 9:27 AM

Aww! The title took me a minute, actually--at first I tried to spell it out, like alpacasaurus . . .

Posted by: --Deb at July 17, 2007 9:47 AM

I'm with Dave - Sharon needs a blog. ;o)

Cute alpacas! I'm glad they have a good home :o)

Posted by: Risa at July 17, 2007 9:53 AM

aww...when we lived in ma. one of my dreams was to move to pembroke and have an alpaca farm. or at least a few. wonderful! btw, who gets the first copies of harry potter at the library? is hannah on the list?

Posted by: Kathleen at July 17, 2007 9:56 AM

What a good heart to take them in! Love the photo of Dale getting a kiss, which is much better than a spit.

Posted by: Birdsong at July 17, 2007 9:57 AM

Awwwwww! So glad they found a good home.

Posted by: jillian at July 17, 2007 10:06 AM

Neat!! They look happy already. (that is a great picture, at the end)

Posted by: jessica~ at July 17, 2007 10:08 AM

Alpaca smooching! Hooray for Sharon! Good things came from a bad situation.

Posted by: Carrie at July 17, 2007 10:16 AM

I feel bad for the splitting couple, but lucky Sharon! I at first read your title as "alpacasaurus" -- think of all the wool on an alpaca the size of a brontosaurus, but then again, how would you shear it?

Posted by: Lucia at July 17, 2007 10:22 AM

Yay, for Sharon! I'm looking forward to photos of the shearing next year. Will you be participating???

Posted by: susan at July 17, 2007 11:00 AM

Sounds like a great name for a murder mystery: The Inadvertnet Alpacas.

Posted by: Chris at July 17, 2007 11:40 AM

Love the photo with Dale! Who knew alpacas gave kisses? So much nicer than the spitting.

Yay for Sharon! I hope this means there's going to be a blog soon.

Posted by: Cookie at July 17, 2007 11:45 AM

gah! they are cute. they're so dr. seuss-like.

Posted by: maryse at July 17, 2007 12:10 PM

They're gorgeous and beautiful colours too.

Posted by: Emma in France at July 17, 2007 12:13 PM

How fun for Sharon! I love the photo of Dale with the youngin'! LOL!

Posted by: Kristi aka Fiber Fool at July 17, 2007 12:17 PM

They are lucky little alpacas-there is more than enough luvin at that farm to go around!!

Posted by: Heather R. at July 17, 2007 12:23 PM

Oh wow, that's nice! Hmmmm...do you think that my apartment manager would be convinced an alpaca llama was a 40 pound dog?

Posted by: Teresa at July 17, 2007 12:30 PM

Dale and the alpaca sitting in a tree. K I S S I N G. Seems more like blogless Sharon's Alpacas need a blog.

Posted by: Deb at July 17, 2007 1:25 PM

That was a very good deed, giving a home to animals who needed one. And now she'll never lack for alpaca fiber either! :-) See, karma.

Posted by: Beth S. at July 17, 2007 3:17 PM

They are adorable!

Posted by: Jennifer at July 17, 2007 3:33 PM

I love alpaca's. They are so cute!

I love alpacas. They are so cute!

Posted by: Kelly at July 17, 2007 3:58 PM

How wonderful. They are so cute!

Posted by: Kelly at July 17, 2007 3:59 PM

Adorable!

Posted by: Kirsten at July 17, 2007 4:59 PM

*snigger* I initially thought it said "Alpacasaurus" and wondered what the hell I was going to see. They do get dressed up in outlandish costumes for shows, you know - a practice I find undignified and unthinkable for my own.

Posted by: Mel at July 17, 2007 5:12 PM

And did Dale kiss back? IMWTK.

Posted by: Marcy at July 17, 2007 6:20 PM

I believe that if I had easy access to alpacas I would acquire a not-altogether-healthy obsession with them. I'd get up early and stay up late and skip work and shun my friends just to find opportunities to plunge my hands in their amazing coats. Be very careful if you have addictive tendencies.

Posted by: Rachel at July 17, 2007 9:06 PM

those are so adorable! and the picture with dale - priceless!

Posted by: Amanda at July 17, 2007 9:07 PM

Awwwr, they are pretty cute. I keep trying to convince K we should get some dwarf goats to keep the grass mowed 'naturally.' I have yet to be successful.

Posted by: BigAlice at July 17, 2007 9:50 PM

Cute, cute!

Posted by: jessie at July 18, 2007 5:42 AM

If Sharon doesn't blog now, she is denying the world some serious cuteness.

Posted by: claudia at July 18, 2007 5:45 PM

I see that I'm not the only one who read the title as "alpacasaurus". That had me a bit confused until I read it again :) Lucky Sharon, getting some alpacas. They look like such sweet animals, I bet they'll be a wonderful addition to the farm.

Posted by: Rachel at July 19, 2007 7:16 AM

Send Sharon my congrats. That's great news.
You know I am all in favour of the Alpacas taking over the world.

Posted by: julia fc at July 19, 2007 3:11 PM

That lucky girl! What cuties. True black? YUM. And a creature who appreciates human goodness, to boot.
