Vacation Goals
I am on vacation this week. I'm not going anywhere and I have no special plans, just a week at home doing stuff.
Wanna see my list of vacation goals?
~weed garden
~plant annuals
~get haircut & color
~spin every day
~practice spindle spinning
~go to YMCA 3 times
~dye some yarn and/or roving
~fix the everyday cardigan
~knit a pair of bootees
I'm calling them goals because I don't want doing these things to feel like doing work. Goals are something to strive for but they aren't the same as writing a "to do" list. Right? I'll keep you posted as to how I'm doing.

In the meantime, I took this picture last Thursday when I left work. The top is down on the Jeep. Summer has officially arrived. Squeee!

Have a good one. This is the last day of my vacation and I didn't get 1/2 of my list of things to do done. My suggestion is to take a vacation but ship all family and pets away for the week first. It will free up a lot of time. Seems like someone or some critter always has to be fed around here. Have fun

Awww. I was almost first.
Good Luck with your List of Achievement! I was going to weed this morning (but you can see how well that is going for me).

It sounds like a nice vacation already! Good goals and most of them are fun! I threw some roving in the dye pot this weekend and yarn is coming up today. I'm feeling envious that you have time to pursue some fun times!

I took a class some years ago which was basically about stress reduction as a way to decrease or eliminate chronic pain (migraine in my case) and one of the biggest tips she gave us was to think "I want to" rather than "I should". I think you've got the perfect attitude towards your list :) Hope you guys are having a marvelous holiday weekend!

My ideal vacation goal list: Sleep (whenever, and for as long as I want to - no interruptions). Eat (whatever I want to, whenever I want it - without the negative consequences of getting sick or fat). After a few days of that, I could add to the list: Knit, crochet, or sew (the project doesn't matter - having the time to just DO it would be nice). Read a real book. I love Debi's idea of sending all the folks away...hmmm....
Enjoy your time off. May your "stuff" get done and your spirit be refreshed by it.

Sometimes vacations at home are the best. You've got some great goals. Relax and enjoy!

Have a great week! Your goals sound fun and challenging - that's sort of the point of goals isn't it.

Good for you to have a list of goals! That's the only way I seem to get anything done around here. Unfortunately, I don't make goals very often. :) I'd say you should start with your spinning goals first - just to make sure you get the important things done.

I hope you are able to achieve those vacation goals. Have a good one, and be sure to get plenty of relaxation in!

Goals, guidelines - works for me! Lucky you. I like "home weeks."

Just enjoy your vacation Carole!

Enjoy the summer weather! Maybe add to your goals: sit in a lawn chair and enjoy the view.

Could you at least add "~sip a martini at 5:00 everyday" or do you do that everyday?
Posted by: Deb at May 28, 2007 10:39 AM
I hope you have a fantastic week!

Can't you get Mason to help out with your list? A good cat would share your goals, ya know. ;^)
Make the most of your week, sweetie!

Have a wonderful time off. It's vacation - do the things that recharge, regardless of how they are named.
Posted by: Laurie at May 28, 2007 5:36 PM
Yay - top down time!
I hope on your list of goals that you be sure to add: relax, rest, drink plenty of martini's and laugh a bunch!
Have a fabulous time.

Well, New England's weather seems to be starting out okay, so that should help.
Interestingly, except for the booties, my week's to-do list is much like yours although I don't call it vacation, I just call it a crapload of stuff I want to get done with not enough time to do it.
The gardens are calling, the sun is shining, I want to be a mulching fool.
I hope you have a great week!

I like that distinction between "to do" and goals. Makes perfect sense to me. I think I'm going change my terminology, too.

I wish I had a week like that. Vacation is just too tiring!
