Rain, Rain, Rain
You know that expression about the best laid plans? Yeah. That was pretty much the case for me and Tallulah on Saturday. Oh, I brought her out to the tent, but it was cold. And rainy. And cold. And did I mention that it rained? So, there was no spinning. There was a bit of knitting (a dishcloth) and quite a bit of talking and eating and drinking, but no spinning. And I took no pictures. Sorry about that.
Edited to add: There are pictures here, courtesy of Martha.
I had a wonderful surprise, though. Maryse and Martha came to visit! It was fabulous of them to make the drive and I don't want to get all sentimental or anything, but it really, really meant so much to me that they came out. In the rain, no less. They got to see what I do on these crazy weekends and two of my worlds collided and the universe didn't explode or anything. Very, very, cool.
Of course, today, the sun is shining. So, allow me to entertain you with a finished pair of socks. These are for Jessica.

Pattern: Feather & Fan
Yarn: Knit Picks Sock Garden 100% Merino wool
Color: Zinnia
I love this yarn! You need two skeins to knit a pair of socks but it's cheap and soft and knits up beautifully. And this color combination was perfect for the transition from March's red to April's orange and yellow.
And speaking of yellow, here's what's up next for socks. This is from A Piece of Vermont and, while I can't remember what Jessie called this color, I'm calling it Cheez Whiz.
Okay, I'm off to make some nachos cast on.

Isn't it great when worlds colide and nothing blows up?
Your socks turned out really nice with the feather and fan pattern.
Cheeze Whiz, ha ha ha ha ha. Where did you find green grass this time of year?

Nice socks! We had the most awful weather on Saturday. It went from rain to icy sleet to snow. Not fun to be outside in that!!

Hey, knitted nachos! What a concept. The socks are fab. Sorry about the weather Saturday -- DD had a 9 am soccer game and I didn't like it much either.

I just bought some of that yarn (on sale, no less!). It looks like KP is discontinuing some of the colorways. Feather and Fan was a great choice.

I thought of you and Dale when I heard the forecast on Friday. Sounds like it turned out great despite the weather. I agree about Knit Picks. And I can't wait to see the new yarn knit up!

seeing you on saturday was loads of fun!

The socks are pretty! For some reason I can't bring myself to knit a pair using feather and fan patterning. Maybe after I finish my jinxed jaywalkers. Congrats on winning the caption contest on Mason-Dixon knitting!

That Zinnia is really pretty. It makes an extremely cute pair of socks.
Cheez Whiz, ha! ;-) If it just had a bit of pink in it, you could call it Port Wine Spread. (Which I love, yes, I admit it in a public forum.)

Do you think that Sock Garden is superwash -- or more to the point, would socks made in this yarn survive being washed in the washing machine?
Very pretty socks and wheel.

I love your new wheel. It's a bummer though that you didn't get to play with her much this weekend, but I'm sure you'll get lots of use out of her very soon!
Too bad you're so far away, I'd come to see you in your civil war stuff! Fun!
Pretty socks, and I just LOVE Jessie's yarn.

You mentioned there was a living history this weekend, and all we did around here was reenact spring cleanup, and annual fest chez nous. ::yawn:: Why didn't I think of coming? d'uh.
